What is this ESR blood test?

The Erythrocyte sedimentation rate or the ESR blood test, is nothing but a simple blood test that completely measures the rate of in which erythrocytes, or red blood cells, actually gets separated from a blood sample that indeed been treated, so that the blood will not clot. This is such a test during which test, even a small amount of your blood will actually be placed in an upright tube and then a laboratory specialist will absolutely measure the rate at which your red blood cells completely settles toward the bottom of the tube, especially after an one hour’s time.

Why do we need ESR blood test?

There are many reasons for getting this test done. You may actually need this blood test if you have been detected with symptoms of one of the diseases, which may cause ESR to go up.

Hence, it can be concluded that ESR is not used as a screening test, rather this is indeed an important test which will always diagnose all such diseases that leads to further inactiveness of the body.
